Former Aviation Minister Clarifies Air Nigeria Controversies

OpenLife Nigeria reports that following the controversies that greeted the launch of Air Nigeria during the last days of former President Muhammadu Buhari by the immediate past Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, Nigerians have not failed to register their displeasures in the manner expectations were dashed.
Speaking on Sunday on Arise TV, Hadi Sirika maintained that the entire process was transparent and in line with global best practice.
He specifically pointed out the House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Aviation, Honourable Pharmacist Nnolim Nnaji , as one of the stumbling blocks in the process.
He explained that Honourable Nnolim Nnaji made a demand which he did not accede because it was against the regulation.
Said Sirika: Honourable Nnaji demanded for 5 percent in the Air Nigeria business.”
Sirika added that at that point, he turned down the demand of Honourable Nnolim Nnaji saying that he advised him to approach other investors in the Air Nigeria business for a possible 5 percent equity.
