OpenLife Nigeria reports that a one time General Secretary of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Comrade Adamu Song, has said he is supporting Mohammed Hayatu-Deen’s 2027 presidential ambition because Hayatu-Deen is a detribalised Nigerian and has the necessary experience to take the country out of the present economic and security challenges.

It is recalled that Hayatu-Deen, a former chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and ex-banker has signalled his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and has been notable for promising and putting on top priority in his campaign talking points to tackle Nigeria’s deepening insecurity and economic crisis.

A statement by Comrade Song on Monday, which he personally signed cited Hayatu-Deen’s experience and tenacity as key factors that made him a strong candidate to defeat incumbent President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Song who was the former National chairman of Alliance for Democracy (AD) further said that Hayatu-Deen’s leadership experience and vision was the “essential assets for revitalising Nigeria’s economy,” noting that Hayatu-Deen’s tenure records both in private and public service showcased his ability to drive economic liberalisation, trade investments, and job creation.

Also, he expressed that Hayatu-Deen had the political ability to foster relationships across Nigeria’s diverse regions, stressing that this made him an ideal candidate to unify the country.

According to him, Hayatu-Deen’s national appeal could bring people together, transcend ethnic and political divides and further deepen inclusivity, progress and prosperity in the nation and as well offer meaningful solutions to the challenges of the vulnerable segments of the society.

He added: “An Hayatu-Deen presidency will lead to significant advancements in investment, infrastructure, security and will ultimately revitalise Nigeria’s crumbling economy.

“Also, Hayatu-Deen who is widely and profoundly known as a detribalised Nigerian has the capacity to bring people together.

“It is regrettable that ethnic and religious tensions have plagued Nigeria’s political landscape for a long time. His leadership experience and vision was the essential assets for revitalising Nigeria’s economy”

Song also emphasised the importance of unity among opposition parties, warning that any coalition without a unified purpose would be ineffective.

He further urged Nigerians to rally behind Hayatu-Deen’s candidacy, citing the need for selfless, capable, and trusted leadership to restore Nigeria’s economic stability, adding that Hayatu-Deen is the best man for the country’s number one job.

He maintained that the forthcoming 2027 presidential poll remains a turning point for Nigerians and they should not miss the opportunity, “Hayatu-Deen’s
private sector experience and technocratic background are key qualifications for the presidency.

“He also has the capacity to shift Nigeria from a consumption-based to a production-based economy, boosting local industries, and improving national productivity, that is the person our nation needs at a time like this.

“Here is a man with the wherewithal to reform intelligence coordination across security agencies and establishing a dedicated terrorism court and mitigate every form of threat to our territorial sovereignty as a nation.

“His penchant for advocating and prioritizing strong, independent institutions over “strong men” in governance are additional virtues in him that can make Nigeria greater.

“Hayatu-Deen is a very reticent personality with integrity and dignity all of these are cutting-edge and springboard for him into a greater heights and more importantly to restore the lost glory of our dear nation and of course, Nigerians will be better for it.

“I urge his party delegates to look inwards and present him as their presidential standard bearer, using him to woo Nigerians into offering him a landslide victory in the forthcoming 2027 poll,” Song stated.
