First Anniversary: Charles Aniagwu urges more efforts to achieve Okowa’s objectives

&NewLine;<p> <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng">Charles Aniagwu<&sol;a>&comma;   Delta State Commissioner for Information&comma; has called on all the staff in his Ministry to redouble efforts towards achieving 100 percent of governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s cardinal objectives&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong>Charles Aniagwu<&sol;strong> stated this on the occasion of his first anniversary in office  as Information Commissioner in Delta State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In a release made available to OpenLife&comma; Aniagwu got commendations for improving on information management in the state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The commissioner got the commendations during a brief celebration at the Ministry of Information headquarters in Asaba&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Speaking at the occasion&comma; the Permanent Secretary in the ministry&comma; Mr Paul Osahor&comma; extolled the exceptional managerial capacity of the commissioner&comma; saying that <strong>Charles Aniagwu&&num;8217&semi;s<&sol;strong> humility and accessibility endeared him to the staff&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He commended the commissioner for his professionalism and the repositioning of the state-owned newspapers&comma; The Pointer&comma; for optimal productivity&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Mr Osahor wished him a long stay as the Commissioner for Information to enable him reposition the other state-owned media outfits in the state for effective information gathering and dissemination&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The PS maintained that Charles Aniagwu was a man of high integrity who employed the limited resources at his disposal to turn around situations for the benefit of those working with him&comma; noting that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa&comma; made the right choice in appointing him as the Commissioner for Information&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Responding&comma; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;thisdaylive&period;com">Charles  Aniagwu<&sol;a> thanked the entire staff and management of the ministry as well as those in the parastatals under the supervision of the ministry for giving him the support to record some levels of achievement for which he was being commended&comma;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He however observed that there was still much to be done towards the actualisation of his aspirations for a better information management in the state<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The commissioner called for cordial relationships between bosses and their subordinates in the ministry&comma; saying that being at the helm of affairs of an organisation should not becloud one’s sense of humility and symbiotic relationship with subordinates&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Mr Aniagwu maintained that the COVID-19 pandemic had slowed down the pace of development&comma; particularly in the information sub-sector of the state economy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>According to him&comma; there was the need to continuously monitor and evaluate the sectoral development of the MDAs in the state by the ministry and disseminate same to the public towards creating the much-needed interface between the state government and the public&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Others who commended the commissioner during the occasion were the Senior Special Assistant &lpar;SSA&rpar; to the Governor on Media&comma; Mr Nduka Omodon&semi; the Director of Information&comma; Mr Dona Obuseh&semi; the General Managers of The Pointer Newspapers&comma; Delta Broadcasting Service&comma; Asaba and Warri&comma; Mr Monday Uwagwu&comma; Lady Evelyn Binite and Mr Malcolm Oteri respectively&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
