FG gives fresh update on Abba Kyari’s extradition

The Federal Government on Wednesday said the request by the United States (US) for the extradition of embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, over fraud links is “still being processed”.

Speaking at a briefing which held after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja, Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, restated that he did not exonerate Kyari neither for his charges of illegal drug business, or money laundering in respect of Ramon Abass, commonly known as Hushpuppi’s matter.

Malami, while speaking on the extradition request by the US government concerning embattled DCP Kyari, rued what he described as a misconception of issues.

The AGF, who argued that the request was still being processed by the authorities, said there exists a general misunderstanding created around the issue by the media.

He implored Nigerian newspapers to endeavour to always get a grip of the facts to avoid creating confusion.
