Few hours after Gbaja’s official endorsement, Dyegh declares for Speakership

Just when critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were thumbing their chest over the successful Presidential dinner for Reps -Elect on Tuesday where Femi Gbajabiamila was unanimously endorsed as the party candidate for the 9th National Assembly Speakership, Hon. John Dyegh announced his interest in the 4th national position, a development that has caused additional confusion in the Speakership battle.
John Dyegh, representing Gboko…federal constituency of Benue State declared his ambition to run for the Speakership seat on Wednesday in Abuja some hours after APC ‎zoned the seat to the South-West and deputy speaker zoned to the North-Central.
In his declaration speech, Dyegh alleged that the North-Central geopolitical zone has been marginalised in the leadership of the House since 1999.
Meanwhile, another aspirant from Niger State, Mohammed Bago, says aspirants from the zone would reconsider their agitation only if the APC zone the Speakership seat to another zone apart from the South-West.
