OpenLife News reports that Mr. Eugene Ebenyi, member of the Forum for African Journalists, FAJ and Acting Director of Information, Ebonyi State Ministry of Information, has been inaugurated as a member of the Ebonyi State Library Board.

Speaking after the inauguration ceremony at the Government House, Abakaliki, Ebenyi described Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as a youthful and people-oriented leader whose policies have driven tremendous growth in education and human capital development in the state.

Inauguration Of New Boards

The inauguration, conducted at the Government House, also saw the swearing-in of new Chairmen and members for the Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency and the School of Health Technology Board, among others.

Governor Nwifuru Has Demonstrated Penchant For Reading Culture

Ebenyi said the constitution of the State Library Board was another proof of the governor’s commitment to improving reading habits and raising educational standards in Ebonyi.

“With the inauguration of the State Library Board, Governor Nwifuru has once again demonstrated his habitual and penchant disposition towards improved reading attitudes of Ebonyi people and their overall educational standard from all fronts.”

He added that the appointment was both an honour and a call to service at a time when the state’s history is being redefined through purposeful governance.

“I therefore wish to most deeply appreciate His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for finding me worthy in the capacity he chose me to serve.”

“I’m most highly elated that at a time when the State’s history is being re-written for democratic-glory, by His Excellency, the Governor, through steady and strategic performance, I am considered.”

We Must Wear Our Working-Spikes

Ebenyi said the new board members have been challenged to work collectively to advance the development of Ebonyi State.

“With this appointment, we’ve been practically challenged to wear our working-spikes in the collective responsibility of building Ebonyi State.”

He pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him and his colleagues.

“It is therefore, my promise to contribute my quota alongside my colleagues in justifying the rare confidence reposed in us in this appointment.”

Call For Support

Ebenyi urged Ebonyians to continue to support and pray for Governor Nwifuru as he works to position the state ahead of its contemporaries.

He noted that the governor’s focus on education, infrastructure and human capital will ensure Ebonyi remains competitive in the comity of states.
