Enugu National Ohanaeze Ndigbo Coming To Lagos On A Fact-Finding Mission

Enugu National Ohanaeze Ndigbo

OpenLife Nigeria reports that as Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos has made a peace move by setting up an electoral committee that will conduct election so that he would hand over to new elected executives in 2026, the Enugu national body of the Igbo apex socio cultural organization is also arranging a fact finding mission to Lagos for amicable resolution of the issues within the Lagos chapter.

Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, wants peace for the socio-cultural organization

In this interview, Chief Solomon Aguene says he is happy that for the first time, national leaders have shown interest in hearing from the incumbent government under his leadership and the opposition in one sitting, a development, he says, would usher peace into the Lagos chapter

Are you aware that Enugu national Ohanaeze Ndigbo is coming to Lagos on a fact-finding mission?

Yes, I am aware. I am very happy that this is the first time we have leaders who want to hear from the incumbent government of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos under the leadership of Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene and the opposition in one sitting.
Late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, as President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, could not do that.

What about late George Obiozor when he was President General?

Late George Obiozor was not aware of the kangaroo election that was conducted after the two parties have gotten Consent Judgement because he was seriously sick at that time which finally made him to pass away.
So, he wasn’t healthy to contribute.

Chief Azuta Mbata, President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide

One thing some people failed to understand is that immediately I was elected and inaugurated, different factions sprang up and inaugurated their own factional executives operating at the same time with mine.

Who were the leaders of those factions?

They were Chief Nnamdi Nwigwe and Colonel Ruben Nwakor, rtd, including another one that sprang up called Ohanaeze General Assembly under the leadership of Chief Eric Eze as their president.

All these were the factions that were operating even as I, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has been a fully elected President from the first day of my administration.

I didn’t complain because we were already in the court. At the end of it, we had Consent Judgment in my favour.
Everybody knows that after court judgement, there is nothing more because no association’s constitution is above Nigerian constitution.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo

So, there is nothing to worry about because the people that are coming are learned and intelligent.
They cannot be influenced with sugar coated mouth or profile of some individuals who think they can influence them by their positions or status, including some retired military personnel who are not members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos and who have not contributed anything or attended a meeting one day.

My sincere joy is that nobody can deceive God. But you can deceive men by claiming to be born again. Whatever it is, future will tell.

I am not worried because they are coming so that all of us will agree which may be another verbal Consent Agreement.
Let me put this on record. I am ready to be part of any step that is taken to attain peace which will be backed by the Consent Judgement given on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 by Justice {Dr.}L.A.M Folami of Lagos High Court.

There is no date of handing over in the judgement in my favour but because I want peace in the interest of Ndigbo, that was why I set up electoral committee that is made up of members from all the groups that are concerned in Lagos which is the soft landing to the challenges in Lagos since 2018.

Those who are saying that Chief Solomon Ogbonna’s tenure has ended and refused to hand over are those who do not know the genesis of the crises and what Consent Judgment means. I am sorry for such people because they have been deceived by wrong information.
