The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, has claimed President Muhammadu Buhari will live in Kaduna after his tenure ends in 2023.
El-Rufai stated this while speaking to State House correspondents on Tuesday after he met the President.
He noted that Buhari is a Kaduna-based citizen, despite being from Daura in Katsina State, as he spent most of his life in the state.
El-Rufai said, “As you know, the President is a Kaduna-based citizen. He is originally from Katsina state, but spent most of his life in Kaduna. And he’s retiring to Kaduna.
“We hope that he (Buhari) will be happy with what we have done and he will be proud of what we have done as an APC government.
“We appreciate all the support that he has given us to enable us to do this.”
Buhari has said many times in the past, that he would retire to his farm in Daura, when his tenure ends.
