Affable and competent leader of the Ghana Olympic Committee Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah has sent his best wishes to Muslims in Ghana and the world at large.
In a statement signed by Dickson Boadi and made available to OpenLife, Mensah said
“On behalf of the Ghana Olympic Committee we say congratulations for the 30 days of fasting,May the Almighty Allah Grant and accept your prayers” he added.
Mr. Nunoo Mensah is optimistic the 30-days fasting by muslims would have positive impact on the COVID-19 pandemic for sports to return in the country soon.
He advised athletes to adhere to the precautionary measures and protocols outlined by government and stay home to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.
This Year’s Eid Prayers was led by the National Chief Imam Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu together with the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Minister for Inner city and zongo Development Hon. Dr. Mustapha Abdul Hamid with some Islamic leaders.
The virtual prayers was held at the offices of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation on Sunday 23rd May,2020 which saw some Muslim Ummah watching from their homes and participated respectively accordingly.
