OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Police Service Commission, on Wednesday, September 20, received a team from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the World Bank for extended briefing and evaluation of Government’s new Policy on assessment of public servants.

This is contained in a statement signed by Ikechukwu Ani , Head, Press and Public Relations of the Police Service Commission, PSC.

According to the statement, the new assessment policy , named the Performance Management System has received the approval of the Federal Government to replace the former assessment technique called APER.

The Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Commission, Dr. Ifeoma Adaora Anyanwutaku who welcomed the team to the Commission assured them that the Commission will be ready for the implementation of the new Policy.

Dr. Anyanwutaku said the Commission will key into the new system and use it effectively to drive the Commission’s work force.

She commended the visiting team for coming to explain the intentions of government on the new appraisal policy and its workability.

Ms Busola Alofe, consultant on the project from World Bank who led the delegation thanked the Commission, an oversight agency on the Police for its hard work to ensure that Nigeria is still one in the face of global security threats.

Alofe said the team was in the Commission to assist it understand the dynamics of the new Policy and ensure it meets the deadline.
