EFCC arrests former Edo governor, Lucky Igbinedion

<p><strong>The <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;OpenLife&period;ng">Economic and Financial Crimes Commission &lpar;EFCC&rpar;<&sol;a> has arrested a former governor of Edo State&comma; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;Openlife&period;ng">Lucky Igbinedion<&sol;a>&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Igbinedion who is currently in the EFCC&&num;8217&semi;s headquarters in Jabi&comma; Abuja is being grilled over  diversion of public funds to the tune of N1&period;6 billion&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The former governor who was convicted of corruption in 2007 after his tenure&comma; is said to have diverted a loan obtained by the Edo State government to settle the financial indebtedness of a company in which he was said to have an interest&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Spokesperson for the anti-graft agency&comma; Wilson Uwujaren&comma; confirmed the development&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In 2008&comma; Igbinedion was prosecuted and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with an option of N3&period;5 million fine for embezzling  N2&period;9 billion belonging to Edo state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
