Economic Revival: Peter Obi Commences Consumption To Production Mantra

<h4>Economic Revival<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party&comma; LP&comma; Mr&period; Peter Obi&comma; has commenced the implementation of his campaign mantra &&num;8220&semi;From Consumption to Production&period;&&num;8221&semi;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The presidential candidate had assured Nigerians &comma; during campaigns&comma; that the prevailing economic realities wherein the country cannot produce what its citizens consume was retrogressive in its entirety&comma; promising that he would reverse the trend&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Obi explained that until Nigeria begins to tap into its abundant human and material resources to produce significant percentage of its consumption ratio&comma; the country&&num;8217&semi;s Gross Domestic Product&comma; GDP&comma;  and other economic indicators will remain discouraging to foreign investors&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The election held on February 25 and the former Anambra State governor  is currently in court to reclaim his mandate which he said has been wrongly given to the All Progressives Congress&comma; APC&comma; Obi&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>However&comma; on Thursday&comma; Obi disclosed to Nigerians&comma; during a press conference&comma; about his encounter with a young lady who needed money to purchase baking machine to commence her entrepreneurial drive&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Obi shed tears during the narrative&comma; an indication of his feeling about the discouraging trends to economic growth through vibrant entrepreneurial engagements&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Saturday evening&comma; Obi announced&comma; on his Facebook wall&comma;  that he has given an undisclosed sum to the lady to commence her baking business&comma; thereby kick-starting his campaign mantra of moving Nigeria from being a consuming country to a productive country&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Obi wrote&colon; <em><strong>Today&comma; I fulfilled my pledge to assist Ms Gimba Sophia Emmanuel in her aspiration to acquire an oven to start her baking and confectionery business&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<em><strong>Interestingly&comma; she has indicated that she would procure a Nigerian made oven&comma; this&comma; enhancing the value chain and putting into effect the consumption to production mantra<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
