Ebonyi People Are Lucky To Have Barrister Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru
OpenLife Nigeria reports that the President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has commended the executive governor of Ebonyi State, Barrister Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on his good work especially in the area of human capital developments.
In this interview in Lagos, Chief Aguene lauded the achievements of governor Nwifuru and called for unity and cooperation for the governor to succeed.
He added that Ebonyi people are lucky to have Barrister Francis Nwifuru as their governor
Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru seems to be doing well in Ebonyi State. What are your views, Mr. President?
Well, I am an indigene of Ebonyi State. Though I live in Lagos, I visit Ebonyi State consistently.
I have heard about the views of the people about the governor.
I have also seen a lot of developments myself.
Anytime I visit Ebonyi since he took over the leadership on May 29, 2023, I always see amazing developments especially in the area of infrastructure.
It is common for so many governors, when they come into office, they abandon the projects of their past governors.
But governor Ogbonna Nwifuru is not so. What interests me most about him is his human capital development and increase of civil servants’ salaries and bonuses in Ebonyi State.
That shows that he is completely not a self centred leader. A real born again Christian he is, not just by mouth, no doubt.
This is because so many selfish leaders engage only in projects which some of them will not complete before leaving office because that is the easiest way to steal government money.
Can someone engage in so many projects when the people are hungry?
The answer is no.
Importantly, governor Nwifuru listens to everybody irrespective of the level of who is giving the advice.
According to people who are very close to His Excellency, Ogbonna Nwifuru, by day to day activities, they say the only thing that can annoy him is when someone comes to blackmail a fellow human being in pursuit of any kind of favour.
He hates gossip.
So, I am proud to be an Eboyian.
I also commend the former governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Engineer Dave Umahi for bringing in someone who will continue with the good works he has laid in Ebonyi State especially in the area of road network.
Now, I can give leadership to Ebonyi people looking at how I transformed Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State to a new phase as an Ebonyi man.
Can something good come out of Israel? Yes, it can.
One of the areas I so much like Engineer Dave Umahi is that he is a man with big heart and a politician to the core.
Another area you cannot take away from Engineer Dave Umahi is the area of communication.
Call him anytime on telephone or text message, he will pick your call. And if he is busy, he will definitely call back or reply you through text message.
That makes someone a leader.
He is a born leader while so many politicians and some business men who feel that they have succeeded will not pick calls of anyone they feel that they are better than in life especially if they find out that they are not going to make use of the person at that moment.
As Engineer Dave Umahi is Minister of Works in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government, it is like two captains agreeing to work in one ship in the game of politics.
Both of them are political tacticians.
I love my brother Dave Umahi.
His wisdom is sparkling.
I pray that in 2031, Nigerians will give him chance to turn Nigeria better than Dubai because he has demonstrated such an idea in Ebonyi State.
I am not saying this to eugolize him or as a praise singer to Dave Umahi because in his government, I am not part of the beneficiaries but others benefitted.
So, I am happy because there are bigger opportunities tomorrow.
It is better to rely on God and not man.
Above all, this present governor, Ogbonna Nwifuru is God sent to Ebonyi people.
Everybody is happy in Ebonyi State today including the strangers since his arrival as a governor.
What Ebonyi people own governor Nwifuru is to continue to pray for him for good health.
He is a humble man.
I am very sure that in few years from now, the tourism attraction to Ebonyi State will be great especially as he is a governor that listens to advice.
Sometimes, when one is humble, some people feel that the person is foolish but that is part of wisdom.
Ogbonna Nwifuru has that wisdom.
So, Ebonyi people are lucky to have him, my namesake, His Excellency, Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru
