The Muslim community in Delta State, on Sunday, November 17, 2019 paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, in his Warri, Delta State residence. Notable cleric, Alhaji Abdul Dauda led the delegation of the religious body. He congratulated the Minister on his appointment as a cabinet minister in the President Buhari’s administration saying his appointment is well deserved given his sterling achievements and impressive track records in legal, business and political circles.
He promised unadulterated supports to the Minister through prayers, including strict adherence to rules and regulations for peaceful co existence within the Muslim community for government’s efforts to manifest. He added that the community is readily available to collaborate with the Ministry, where and when necessary, for effective domestication of government planned objectives in the area.
In his response, the Minister welcomed the religious body and promised to render his unflinching support to everybody in the State, “Ours is a national assignment and my mandate is to attend to everybody without prejudice for race or creed. We shall always attend to the needs of our people. I will make sure I use my apparatus of office through one of our empowerment initiatives, the Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme- MEES to put smiles on the faces of the unemployed as a whole,” the Minister, social crusader, critic, newspaper columnist and human rights activist said.
