OpenLife Nigeria reports that popular Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has officially withdrawn charges against TikTok content creator Eedie Bliss, who was recently arrested over a defamatory video involving the actress’s family.

The development comes days after the content creator was detained in Abuja following a petition filed by Mercy Johnson’s husband, Prince Odi Okojie, over allegations shared on social media.

Confirming Eedie Bliss’s release via Instagram, Mercy Johnson stated that the decision to withdraw the case was taken out of love and respect for numerous individuals who intervened on her behalf.

“For the love of respect we have for numerous individuals, we have decided to withdraw the charges against their lady in question.
Please, you all should leave my family alone.”

The actress further lamented what she described as a deliberate attempt by some individuals to destabilize her marriage.

She explained that because many people could not believe she had remained married for 15 years, they allegedly devised plans to destroy her home.
She questioned their motives, asking:
What would they gain from it?

Mercy Johnson further revealed that the online falsehoods had spilled into real-life consequences for her children.
