Deadly Attack In Ebonyi

 

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has directed immediate sack of political appointees, including commissioners, management committee members, traditional rulers, town union and village heads in Amasiri, Afikpo Local Government Area.

The monarchs have been dethroned with their certificate of recognition invalidated.

The Governor announced the sack on Saturday during his on-the-spot assessment visit to the scene of deadly attack that claimed the lives of at least four persons in Okporojo community in Osso Edda, Edda local government area on Thursday.

In a viral video circulating on social media Okporojo community members alleged that some people from Amasiri in Afikpo Local Government Area came to their area in Oso-edda to attack and destroy their properties and buildings.

Governor Nwifuru was said to have cut short his working visit in Abuja and returned to the state, and from the airport, proceeded straight to Okporojo in the Edda local government area for first-hand assessment of the situation.
