<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Dead  Ebonyi Commissioner may have come back to life<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that Ebonyi Commissioner for Infrastructure Development&comma; Engineer Fidelis Nweze&comma; who sustained an injury in an auto crash on Saturday along the Enugu-Abakaliki highway and reportedly died in a hospital in Abuja from complications after a surgery he underwent to correct a ruptured intestine&comma; may have resurrected&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Governor David Umahi&comma; in an emotion laden voice&comma; confirmed his death to reporters on Tuesday in capital Abakaliki&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He described the Commissioner as irreplaceable and one of the pillars of his administration&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The Governor said&colon; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Nweze died this morning at Turkish Hospital Abuja at about 9&colon;50am&period; He was traveling to Enugu on Saturday morning with his driver and orderly&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;At Obunagu in Enugu state they rammed into a stationery truck&period; He was on seat belt and they were all conscious&period; He was rushed to Niger foundation Enugu&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I got to know about it on Sunday and I insisted they move him to Abuja&period; I sent a doctor to the Turkish hospital&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;He was having severe pain so they did an examination and discovered that the seat belt had ruptured his intestine&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;They did a successful operation and wanted to move him to the ward but we said no they should put him in intensive unit for 3 days to be sure everything is okay&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;This morning they said he had crisis and at about 9&colon;50am he died”&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The governor described him as one of the pillars of his administration&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I feel so sad and empty&period; To me it is like a dream&period; It is like my younger brother&comma; my son or very close friend just slept and died&comma;” he wept&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He declared Tuesday as public holiday in the state&comma; adding no market or any other business will open in honour of the late commissioner&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;But on Thursday&comma; Ebonyi State erupted in jubilation as the &OpenCurlyQuote;dead’ Commissioner has reportedly come back to life<br &sol;>&NewLine;His residence was Thursday afternoon filled with jubilant crowd who were celebrating his come-back to life&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;OpenLife gathered that the jubilation erupted after he reportedly made a video call to members of his family&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;According to a source which visited his residence in Abakaliki&comma; the Ebonyi State capital&comma; jubilant crowd were seen singing praises to God for the &OpenCurlyQuote;miracle’<br &sol;>&NewLine;Some motorcyclists who are believed to be lovers to the Commissioner have also taken to gymnast-ride in celebration&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;A close source to the family was quoted to have said&semi; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We’re praying”<br &sol;>&NewLine;Meanwhile&comma; when <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wsj&period;com">OpenLife<&sol;a> contacted a top government official from Ebonyi State <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wsj&period;com">Thursday<&sol;a> afternoon when the news broke&comma; the government official who pleaded anonymity said &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;It is still a rumour&period; I have personally called Government House in Abakaliki to confirm&period; Nobody has been able to confirm if it is true or not&comma;” he stated&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
