COVID 19: Ahafo Region disinfects market

As COVID 19 pandemic devastates activities globally across sectors, Ahafo Region in Ghana has taken additional sanitary measures to keep their environment clean and safe. In this piece, Francis Agyapong Nimpong, also known as Political Pastor Cashier, tells the story

It is evidently clear that, the World is in a total pool of lugubriousness due to the widespread of the carcinogenic pandemic Corona virus. The number of cases recorded on this virus keeps on skyrocketing each and everyday.

Spain has recorded 80,031 cases, China- 81,439, Italy- 97,687, America is now leading with 139,276 and most of the African Countries have recorded cases of the Covid 19. The number of fatalities on this virus is so alarming. Therefore, the Government of Ghana has rolled out some vital measures to help in the battle against it.

The Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council in fraternisation with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Zoomlion and other stakeholders embarked on a disinfection exercise at the Ahafo Regional Capital, Goaso.

The daily market, weekly, public toilets and most pressing vantage places were all sprayed with chemicals to help in fighting against the World’s number one enemy, COVID 19 at Goaso.

The hardworking Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie (MP)* disclosed to the media that forty three (43) markets will be disinfected in the Ahafo Region. He urged all and sundry to exercise patience in this trying time of Covid 19.

Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie (MP) the Ahafo Regional Minister commended the president of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the great measures he has put in place to curb this mortiferous virus. He called on all philanthropists, civil societies, religious entities, NGOs and individuals to contribute their quota by supporting the Government of Ghana on the war against Covid 19. Hon. Bobie reiterated on a point that proper hand washing is one of the best precautionary measure against the virus. So, the people of Ahafo Region have to wash their hands very well under running water, not underestimating the use of hand sanitisers, noise masks etc.

The unflagging Ahafo Regional Minister stressed much on social distancing as one of the key ways of ending the spread of the virus and staying at home in a form of self quarantine is very imperative. The security agencies within the Region helped in ensuring law and order in the disinfection exercise.

Traditional leaders and some unmitigated courtiers supported it. Barons of nobilities from the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council Represented in their numbers. MMDCEs, Assembly members, and the general public cannot be forgotten of their great effort.Mim, Kukuom, Hwidiem, Sankore markets etc were all disinfected.
