Court orders ASUU to end strike

<p><strong>The <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;Openlife&period;ng">National Industrial Court<&sol;a> has ordered the <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;Openlife&period;ng">Academic Staff Union of Universities &lpar;ASUU&rpar;<&sol;a>&comma; to call off the ongoing Strike&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The government through its counsel&comma; James Igwe prayed the court for an interlocutory injunction restraining ASUU from taking further steps as regards the strike&comma; pending the determination of the substantive suit&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h2><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;peter-obi-kinsmen-reject-him-ask-him-to-step-down&sol;">Peter Obi&&num;8217&semi;s Kinsmen Reject Him&comma; Ask Him To Step Down For Top Candidate <&sol;a><&sol;h2>&NewLine;<p>The ongoing strike by lecturers in public universities&comma; which began on 14 February&comma; took a turn for the worse when ASUU declared it total and indefinite on 29 August&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A series of meetings between the Union and the Federal Government to resolve the impasse had always ended in a fiasco largely because sincerity and realism did not underpin those engagements<&sol;p>&NewLine;
