<h4>Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu Has no idea</h4>
<p>OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Dauda Biu, has been described as an officer who has run out of ideas on how to manage the Commission and should be sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari without further delay.<br />
The call came against the backdrop of Biu&#8217;s statement on Friday in which he advised travellers to discontinue the patronage of 18-seater bus. for long distance travels.</p>
<p>The Corps Marshal who gave the advice at a news conference in Abuja, said most traffic accidents recorded in the country involved 18-seater buses.</p>
<p>According to him, the 18-seater buses were designed for short distance travels.</p>
<p>“A lot of crashes we have recorded involved 18-seater buses and the crashes also occurred at night. This is devastating and worrisome.</p>
<p>“To this end, great emphasis must be made to discourage the use of 18 seater buses registered under intra state mass transit, for inter-state long journeys,&#8221; he stated.</p>
<p>Reacting, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW chairman in one of the parks in Ibadan who spoke to OpenLife Saturday morning in Ibadan, requesting not to be named described Biu&#8217;s statement as &#8220;Nonsense,&#8221; saying the Corps Marshal should be sent back to school to learn what is required of his job.<br />
&#8220;I have heard the story. That man has run out of ideas. He should be sent back to school to learn what Road Safety job is all about.<br />
&#8220;18-seater buses have been in use in Nigeria and have contributed significantly to the movement of passengers for decades.<br />
&#8220;We have been using 18-seater buses before he joined FRSC and he just woke from the wrong side of his bed to tell passengers not to patronize us.<br />
&#8220;Is it only 28-seater buses that cause accident on our highway? What of trailers and other brands? Buhari should sack him,&#8221; he demanded</p>
