West Africa Clean Energy and Environment Trade Fair and Conference has been fixed for September 1 to 30.
The virtual conference, WACEE, is the subregion’s one–stop shop for clean energy, water, and environment technology sectors.
eWACEE’20 will bring stakeholders together around with the theme “The Business of Sustainability.”
MISSION
WACEE’20 will celebrate innovation and promote sustainable development in the West African sub-region.
The organizers disclosed that due to COVID-19, the 8th edition of WACEE is moving to an online platform. “We are taking innovation to heart”, says Katharina Felgenhauer, Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria,
WACEE’20 brings together over 5,000 participants and over 50 top-level speakers. Also expected are exhibitors with interest in exploring opportunities in West African energy and environment ecosystems
“The first-ever eWACEE allows companies and industry experts to find business partners in Water, Clean Energy and Circular Economy. This is achievable through simple logging in from the comfort of their home or office, without the need to travel.”

Director General of the Nigerian German Chamber of Commerce, Gbenga Adebija describes the event as an excellent platform for stakeholders’ to engagements.
“The prevailing pandemic has made issues circular economy, clean energy and waste optimization more imperative and compelling for businesses.”
Christian Sedat, Germany Chargé d’Affaires sees Circular Economy, Clean Energy and Water as relevant topics across West Africa.
Therefore, “They are topics high on the agenda of the German Federal government when it comes to sustainable development.”
Sedat added that her government just evolved a hydrogen strategy to be used as a source of energy. He explained that it aims to mitigate the effect of climate change. He requested its inclusion for discussion at eWACCE’20.
The eWACEE’20 platform will avail exhibitors, industry experts and practitioners in the clean energy, water and circular economy sectors an opportunity to showcase latest innovations, products and services to over 5000 visitors for a period of 30-days.
PRESENTATION
There will be a 4-day live conference. These include presentations, keynote sessions, virtual poster sessions and panel discussions among relevant stakeholders and decision-makers.
In addition to the conference, there would also be pre-conference events on policy paper competition as well as startup challenges.
AHK Nigeria’s Godwin Aigbokhan said, “Adopting sustainable solutions will require a rethinking of value chains, business processes and consumption.”
This, he said, will “Reduce waste and conserve resources.”
Andrew Aryee of AHK Ghana is optimistic of the emerging ties amongst the countries involved.
