OpenLife Nigeria reports that High Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State Chapter, has applauded Rt. Honourable Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly for his detribalized approach to human relationship and unbiased legislation that has made Lagos a home for all.
The Ohanaeze President stated this on Friday during an interactive session with newsmen as part of his Christmas goodwill message.
Aguene extolled the cooperative leadership between the executive and legislative arms of government in Lagos headed by His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Speaker Obasa which has resulted in seamless policies that have created a convivial environment for social harmony and business growth.
“My Ndigbo people in Lagos have benefitted much from governor Sanwo-Olu and Speaker Obasa’s quality democratic governance in Lagos.
“The two leaders have adopted Ndigbos as their kit and kin and I am very happy about it.
“For instance, Speaker Obasa has made Solochus a household name. His supports for Solochus both in the hotel and LAWMA projects are unquantifiable. That is huge economic empowerment to Ndigbos.
“As a demonstration of his love for Ndigbos, Speaker sent a representative to the Igbo Day which held last week in Ikeja including the warm reception his representative accorded us when we honoured him last week. In all of this, we appreciate him,” Aguene stated.
He however called on other leaders to emulate governor Sanwo-Olu and Speaker Obasa in detribalized governance to minimize hostilities among various tribes in Nigeria.
“We can only move forward in this country when leaders see other tribes as part of them. That is what governor Sanwo-Olu and Speaker Obasa are demonstrating in Lagos,” he said.
Aguene maintained that as the leader of Ndigbos in Lagos, he will continue to encourage his people to support and co-operate with the government of Lagos State for seamless developments that will be beneficial to all.
