Chief Aguene announces the joy in the Lagos Ohanaeze’s enclave following the birth of Ooni’s baby boy
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Chief Aguene Solomon Ogbonna, President Lagos Ohanaeze Ndigbo has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on the birth of his first male child.
Prophetess Naomi Olori Silekunola, the wife of the Ooni, gave birth to the bouncing baby boy on November 18.
In a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to OpenLife, Chief Solomon Aguene thanked God for the arrival of the crown prince to Oduduwa throne.
In the statement, Chief Aguene extolled the virtue of the Ooni who he describes as an embodiment of patience even in the most complex and difficult situations.
“I welcome the crown prince to our beautiful world, full of opportunities and prospects,” he said.
Aguene’s statement reads in part:
“I also thanked the Almighty Olodumare for our mother Yeyeluwa, Olori Silekunola Naomi Ogunwusi who delivered the baby safely.
“The symbolic importance of the arrival of your son revolves round consolidating on the age-long relationship between the Yorubas and Ndigbos as exemplified by late Ladoke Akintola, who paid the supreme prize of protecting late Aguiyi Ironsi whom he saw as his brother irrespective of tribal difference.
“The arrival of the heir apparent to the Oduduwa throne also means a lot to us at the Lagos Ohanaeze Ndigbo in view of our engagements as custodians of our cultural values and heritage.
“By God’s grace, we will continue to work together in the promotion of peace and harmony in our fatherland,” he emphasized.
Above all, the Lagos Ohanaeze President prayed for more celebrations in the household of the 51ˢᵗ Ooni of the Yoruba kingdom of Ile-Ife.
