Chacha Eke: Long History Of Marriage And Divorce Of Nollywood Actress

Chacha Eke is embroiled in a Long History Of Marriage And Divorce

Following Chacha Eke’s recent outpour to the effect that her marriage has come to an end, OpenLife Nigeria digs below the surface to unearth her long journey in marriage and divorce.

                                                           Profile
Born in Ebonyi State on July 17, 1987 to a former Commissioner for Education, Professor John Eke, she had her basic education at ESUT Nursery and Primary School in Ebonyi State. She completed her secondary school education at Our Lord Shepherd International School in Enugu.
She subsequently graduated from Ebonyi State University with a B.Sc degree in accountancy.
She has been in the entertainment industry since 2009 to date.
She is also the Chief Executive Officer of Print-Afrique Fashion Ltd.
She married Austin Faani Ikechukwu, a movie director in 2013. The marriage is blessed with children.
Born Charity Chinonso Eke, her rise to fame came when she starred in the 2012 drama film, The End is Near.
On October 8, 2020, the Nollywood actress, Chacha Eke disclosed that she had bipolar disorder and also debunked speculations that her marriage crashed over domestic abuse from her husband, Austin Faani.
The actress who took to social media a few days earlier to announce the end of her 7-year-old marriage to Nollywood movie producer Austin Faani, said she has been diagnosed of bipolar disorder.
In a video she made on a hospital bed, the beautiful mother of three said:
“Five days ago, I made a video saying that my marriage to Austin Faani is over and that video came with a lot of backlash from people with many insinuating that it’s a clear case of domestic violence. It’s not. Austin has never laid his hands on me. Austin has never even raised his voice at me and God in heaven knows that’s the truth.”
Continuing she said,
“I’m here at First Delta American hospital, Asaba, receiving treatment. Several psychiatrists have come to assess me mentally and I have been diagnosed of bipolar disorder. Bipolar is real. Here in Africa, we tend not to know about it due to ignorance or overlook it. I cannot tell you all how I’ve been feeling in these tiny videos that I’ve been making but I will, however, show you motion pictures soon”.
However, on October 9, 2020, reports had it that hardship and drugs intake caused the recent outburst of the popular Nollywood actress.
This information came after she took to social media to cry out about her marriage.
The Nollywood star shared a video on her Instagram page, revealing she was tired of her 7 years old marriage to Nollywood director, Austin Faani and wants to move on.
However, Chacha’s brother, Aik Eke, later took to social media to claim her marriage didn’t suffer domestic violence after the news spread like wildfire.
She also did a video of herself lying in a hospital bed, claiming she has been diagnosed of bipolar disorder.
Many Nigerians rubbished the claim, branded her a liar, and called out her husband for being the mastermind behind the video.
Furthermore, Aik Eke took to his Instagram page to blast her husband, Austin, claiming he forced Chacha to do the video in order to save his name.
Reacting, some industry players alleged that Chacha Eke’s outburst was a result of the alleged consumption of drugs.
The source close to the couple alleged that the actress was introduced into taking weed and other drugs by the husband and whenever she’s not “high” she breaks down which is allegedly the cause of her outburst.
The source further alleged that the couple has gone broke due to their new lifestyle and Chacha who is like the breadwinner of the home could not take it any longer.
“Who doesn’t know Chacha’s weed and drug story in Asaba? She needs to be taken for rehab as she is in a very bad state now. The couple is currently in so much debt of which most of the money is believed to have gone into their drug lifestyle. She is currently being “treated” by Austin’s doctor friend but trust me, she needs to be in a rehab Center.
“Apparently, she is frustrated whenever she isn’t high on drugs and bears her truth during such moments. I believe she wasn’t high on the day she came on SM to tell the world she is done. He introduced her to it, that’s why her brother called him out. Even the family knows,” the source affirmed.
In like manner and on June 28, 2022,
Chacha Eke, again, has announced she’s quitting her marriage with Austin Faani.
The mother of four who shared a post on her Instagram page early Tuesday morning stated that she doesn’t want to “die” or go inexplicably “missing” while living in her paradise.
Chacha further apologized for “living a lie these past years” while confirming random speculations that there has been trouble in her “perceived paradise”.
However, in this recent update, Chacha stated that many have died pretending all is well whilst wishing, hoping and praying for a better tomorrow.
“Many have died pretending all is well whilst wishing, hoping and praying for a better tomorrow.
“I don’t want to “die” or go inexplicably “missing”.
“I sincerely and publicly apologize for living a lie these past years. True to random speculations, there has been trouble in my “perceived paradise”.
“For the 2nd time in 2years, I am here again on social media boldly declaring that I am done with my marriage. My long overdue/relentless stance on this is of course no news to Austin Faani, the doctors and my parents.
“If push comes to shove & suddenly i am incommunicado; my lawyers, the welfare department and the Nigerian police force have my testimonials in recorded video clips-statements set for public release on all social media apps and national newspapers.”
