OpenLife Nigeria reports that Chief Olabode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has lent his voice to the rumoured presidential aspiration of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Last weekend, former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana, declared that former President Goodluck Jonathan will contest the 2027 presidential election, insisting that his return to Presidential Villa in Aso Rock is not just a dream but a concrete plan.

Speaking at the Niger State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congress, Gana said Nigerians are yearning for Jonathan’s comeback.

“In 2015, Jonathan said his ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians. Since then, we’ve had another President for eight years and now another for two years.

“Nigerians have seen the difference, and they are asking us to bring back our friend, former President Goodluck Jonathan. I can confirm that he will contest in 2027 as PDP’s candidate,” Gana stated.

Reacting on Tuesday during a conversation on Arise TV, Chief Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said Jonathan possesses all the requirements to take over the management of Nigeria from 2027.

According to Bode George, “Our party, PDP, has decided that the next presidential candidate will come from the south. There is room for competition. Jonathan has better records than Tinubu.
Jonathan has been cleared by the court to contest.

No need to compare Jonathan’s administration with that of President Tinubu. However, let the will of the people decide who should be the next president.

Check Jonathan economic index. Check the value of Naira during Jonathan’s era and now. Things that used to sell for N5 are now N50. Are Nigerians happy now? The answer is no.

How much was fuel under Jonathan and now? Jonathan’s records are very pleasant,” Bode George said.
