Biu Emirate Postpones Buratai, Garba’s Turbaning

OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Biu Emirate has announced the postponement of the turbaning of the former Chief of Army Staff His Excellency, Amb Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai CFR (rtd), as the Betara of Biu and Brig Gen Dadan Garba (rtd) as Zanna of Biu.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mallam Abubakar Mohammed Secretary Biu Emirate Council, Borno State and made available to the press on Thursday 9th March 2023.
The statement reads as follows:

This is to inform the general public that due to the rescheduled date of Gobernatorial and states assemblies elections, which coincides with the earlier scheduled date for the turbaning of His Excellency, Amb Lt GenTukur Yusuf Buratai CFR (rtd), as the Betara of Biu and Brig Gen Dadan Garba (rtd) as Zanna of Biu, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Biu Alh Dr. Mustapha Umar Mustapha ll CON, on behalf of the emirate, has postponed the proposed turbaning to another convenient day within the year.
All disappointments caused by this unforeseen circumstance, is hereby regretted, please.
