<p><em>Bitcoin grew as market surges</em><br />
<strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a> </strong>reports that bitcoin, world&#8217;s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization rose by 6.54% to $57,098.08 on Friday, April 30.</p>
<p>The rise by 6.54% accentuated the market globally on Friday, adding $3,504.11 to its previous close.<br />
The world&#8217;s biggest and best-known cryptocurrency, is up 105.9% from the year&#8217;s low of $27,734 on January 4.<br />
It went down 12% from the year&#8217;s high of $64,895.22 on April 14.<br />
The coin, linked to the ethereum blockchain network, rose 1.06 % to $2,787.35 adding $29.29 to its previous close.</p>
<p>Bitcoin, with the Symbols: BTC, ฿, â¿, is a cryptocurrency invented in 2008 by an unknown person or group of people using the name Satoshi Nakamoto.<br />
The digital money that is instant, private and free from bank fees, began use in 2009 when its implementation was released as open-source software.<br />
Unlike fiat currency, bitcoin is created, distributed, traded, and stored with the use of a decentralized ledger system, known as a blockchain.</p>
<p>The<a href="https://www.wsj.com/"> block chain</a> is a shared public ledger on which the entire Bitcoin network relies.<br />
All confirmed transactions are included in the block chain. It allows Bitcoin wallets to calculate their spendable balance so that new transactions can be verified thereby ensuring they&#8217;re actually owned by the spender.<br />
The integrity and the chronological order of the block chain are enforced with cryptography.</p>
