<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that His Excellency, Bassey Edet Otu, Cross River State Governor is expected to meet All Progressives Congress, APC Stakeholders in a meeting scheduled for Monday, February 16, 2026 at Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC) by 3:00 pm.</p>
<p>Among the stakeholders the governor is expected to meet is General Edward Unimna Rtd, who is dead and has been buried since last year.</p>
<p>Major General Edward Ushie Unimna (Rtd) was a distinguished Nigerian Army infantry officer from Ohong, Obudu, Cross River State, who passed away in March 2025. A 1968 commissioned officer, he notably served as the Chief Military Observer for the <a href="https://www.vanguardngr.com/">UN Angola</a> Verification Mission II (UNAVEM II) from 1991–1992.</p>
<p>Number 4 on the list, Honorable Justice Emmanuel Agim is a sitting Justice of the Supreme Court, who, by ethics, should not be in such a meeting in which case many doubt if the respected Supreme Court Judge is aware of such political arrangement.</p>
<p>The VC of UNICAL and UNICROSS, who will usually be Returning Officers, during the general elections were also listed.</p>
<p>Professor Peter Oti, was also listed on the list for Obanlikwu LGA.</p>
