OpenLife Nigeria reports that governor Seyi Makinde is said to have been scammed by bandits who kidnapped school children and teachers in Oyo State 49 days ago.
According to the story in a viral video with narratives by Mr.Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, a Nigerian social media influencer and a content creator who describes himself as “online police,” governor Makinde is said to have paid ransom to the kidnappers.
Yet, 49 days after, the victims are yet to be released.
The Video
It would be recalled that on May 15, 2026, armed men in military fatigues on motorcycles attacked three schools in the Ahoro-Esinele and Yawuta communities in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, kidnapping 39 schoolchildren (some as young as two) and seven teachers.
How The Incident Happened
The armed assailants stormed Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Community Grammar School, and L.A. Primary School.
One teacher was killed during the initial raid, and the kidnappers beheaded a mathematics teacher, Michael Oyedokun, while the victims were held in captivity.
According to the stories, dozens of victims, including toddlers, secondary students, and teachers, were herded into the vast forests of the Old Oyo National Park.
