Atiku and Tinubu
Former vice president and presidential candidate on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his win.
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress emerged winner of the party’s presidential primary.
He obtained over 1,271 votes to defeat his closest rivals, ex-minister Rotimi Amaechi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
While Amaechi polled 316 votes, Osinbajo scored 235 votes.
Congratulating the former Lagos governor, Atiku tweeted:
“Congratulations, @officialABAT on your emergence as your party’s presidential candidate. It has been a hard-fought contest, but that you prevailed confirms your tenacity. -AA”
Recall that Atiku emerged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
Atiku clinched 371 out of the 767 accredited votes to defeat his closest rival, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who polled 237 votes.
