Asake Opens Up About Leaving Home at 15 To Chase His Musical Dream

OpenLife reports that Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has opened up about the challenges he faced with his father while pursuing his music career.

In an interview on Kortyeo, Asake recalled the close bond he shared with his father during his early years. However, that relationship was tested when he decided to dedicate himself to music, a path his father did not support.

“The father who gave birth to me, he’s more stubborn than I am. So I couldn’t look him in the face,” he revealed, explaining how difficult it was to confront his father at the time.

At just 15 years old, Asake made the bold decision to leave home and follow his passion.

“We were close when I was younger, but I came to a point when I wanted to leave home to do what I am doing now, but my father said no.

But I just took off regardless. I was 15 then, focused on where I was going. And there was nothing anybody could tell me,” he added.

Despite the early tension, Asake emphasized that his love for his father remains unwavering.

“The love I have for my father is the same as the love I have for my mother.

Even if he points a gun at me, he will still be my father,” he said, highlighting the enduring bond between parent and child.

The singer’s experience illustrates how personal ambition can sometimes clash with family wishes, yet love and respect remain at the heart of those relationships.
