<h4>Army Announces Take Over Of Madagascar</h4>
<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that a Madagascar army colonel, who led a mutiny of soldiers that joined anti-government Gen Z protesters, said on Tuesday that the military had taken charge of the African Island nation, after President Andry Rajoelina fled the country.</p>
<p>The Republic of Madagascar is an island country in the Indian Ocean that includes the island of Madagascar and numerous smaller peripheral islands.</p>
<p>Lying off the southeastern coast of <a href="https://openlife.ng/">Africa,</a> it is the world&#8217;s fourth-largest island, the second-largest island country, and the 46th-largest country overall. Its capital and largest city is Antananarivo.</p>
<p><em><strong>&#8220;We have taken the power,&#8221;</strong> </em>Colonel Michael Randrianirina said on national radio, adding that the military was dissolving all institutions except the <a href="https://www.vanguardngr.com/">lower house of parliament</a>, which voted to impeach Rajoelina just minutes before his announcement.</p>
