APC decides On Next Action Over Office Access Denial
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Tonye Cole, the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship in the Rivers State March 18 election has expressed disappoinment in the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the handling of the disputed Rivers election.
Speaking Tuesday in a live programme on Arise TV, Cole accused the
chairman of Ikwerre local council area and the deputy speaker of the state assembly of leading thugs to intimidate people and his supporters in Rivers State on the instructions of governor Nyesom Wike.
“I am disappointed in INEC. They ought to have given us the true certified copy of the election results and other documents which we requested,” he lamented.
Continuing Cole emphasized that he is a different person from other politicians who should not be taken for granted adding that Wike’s mode of politics in which people are intimidated should not be encouraged to fester.
He added that Wike’s style is anti people which portends elements of developmental retrogression.
“I am a different person. People are tired of oppression. We need investment in River State. There must be change which I symbolize,” he stated.
Further, Tonye Cole disclosed that ” We will go to the tribunal to challenge the electoral manipulations,” he promised.
