Ampofo-Ankrah and five others have been appointed to strengthen Africa Beach Soccer Union, ABSU, Committees.
The appointments, according to ABSU Network, has Yaw Ampofo Ankrah as
head of media and branding team.
Ampofo-Ankrah is a broadcaster and Ghana Beach Soccer Chairman.
The appointments, insiders aver, have given ABSU a huge boost.
However, the appointments were confirmed after an Executive Committee meeting in late August.
The meeting deliberated on issues relating to the future of the rapidly growing sand sport across the continent.
Significantly, five other nominations were also accepted by the union after strong recommendations from the Ghana Beach Soccer Chairman.
ABSU secretariat in Lagos – Nigeria, in addition, says referee George Darko has been given a role on the competitions committee.
Other appointments include Nana Poku Amankwah who is currently the organizing secretary of Ghana Beach Soccer. He will now serve on the Competitions Committee of ABSU.
Ghana Beach Soccer Media officer Dennis Mensah and Ruben Dzidodo Adjahoe (CEO of Keta Sunset) have been appointed to serve at the Union Secretariat.
TV3 sports producer, Mrs Janet Amankwah got a role to serve on the Women’s Development Committee of the Union.
The President of ABSU who also heads Uganda Beach Soccer is Mr. Deo Mutabazi. He is known as a pillar in the drive for more fund, infrastructural development
to beach soccer on the continent.
Key stakeholders of member countries will also serve as heads of the various committes including marketing and sponsorship. Others are Competitions Committee, Technical & Youth Development, Women’s Development and the ABSU Secretariat respectively and
The countries include Senegal, Morocco, Seychelles and Nigeria.
