After A Week-Long Tactical Operations, Kebbi Police Arrest Kidnap Suspects, Recover Firearms

<h4>After A Week<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">‎OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that the Kebbi State Police Command has recorded yet another stride in its ongoing security operations&comma; with the arrest of suspected kidnappers and the recovery of illegal firearms across the state between 21st and 26th December 2025&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>‎This is contained in a statement signed by Command’s spokesman&comma; SP Bashir Usman&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎According to the statement&comma; one Iliya D&period; Bano of Yarbuga village was arrested in Danko&sol;Wasagu Local Government Area&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He allegedly threatened the village head of Yar Ali village and another resident of Yarbuga village with kidnapping unless a ransom of ₦500&comma;000 was paid&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>During interrogation&comma; the suspect confessed to the act and disclosed the identity of an accomplice Istifanus Digwengwe who is currently at large&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎Similarly&comma; also within Danko&sol;Wasagu Local Government Area&comma; one Danisa Yakub of Tafki village was apprehended for demanding ₦1 million from a resident of Koliko village under violent threat of kidnapping&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The suspect during investigation further admitted involvement in a previous kidnapping incident within the area&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎In a separate operation in Kalgo Local Government Area&comma; police operatives recovered ten  locally fabricated firearms from three suspects&semi; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">Aliyu Muhammad Sambawa&comma;<&sol;a> Salihu Haruna&comma; and Suleiman Isah who were unable to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the possession of the weapons&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;31616" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-31616" style&equals;"width&colon; 240px" class&equals;"wp-caption alignnone"><img class&equals;"size-medium wp-image-31616" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2025&sol;12&sol;Kebbi-2-2-240x300&period;jpg" alt&equals;"After A Week-Long Tactical Operations&comma; Kebbi Police Arrest Kidnap Suspects&comma; Recover Firearms" width&equals;"240" height&equals;"300" &sol;><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-31616" class&equals;"wp-caption-text"><em><strong>Kebbi CP&comma; Sani Bello<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p>‎The Commissioner of Police&comma; CP Bello M&period; Sani&comma; noted that the arrests and recoveries were the result of sustained patrols and actionable intelligence&period; He stated that investigations are ongoing and assured that all suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He further urged residents to continue cooperating with the Police by promptly reporting suspicious activities&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎<br &sol;>&NewLine;‎<&sol;p>&NewLine;
