The African Church, Solution Ground, Lemme, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has put smile on the face of a physically challenged woman identified as Mrs Feyitola Ayede by empowering her with a brand new grinding machine and sum of N20, 000 as start up fund.

The church
also distributed rice to 60 old women.

The
empowerment materials were presented to the woman on Sunday during a thanks
giving ceremony in honour of Sons and Daughters of Grace, SDG. ;

The
church also promised a sum of 15,000 as monthly salary to the physical
challenged woman to cater for her immediately needs.

In an
interview with the director of mission of the African Church of God, Bishop
Jeremiah Okunola, popularly known as Baba Ire Owuro, ;he ;maintained that the church is following the
word of ;God that says ;you should
help the less priviledged, adding that the empowerment was a result of giving
back to the ;poor.

”When
you see a poor person help him, when you have the ability to help render it
because givers ;never ;lack, the word of God encourages and propels
us to help the poor and by the grace of God we will not stop in giving back to
the less privileged”

”The
Bible says ”we should not forget the poor in the land so when you get to the
land do not forget the poor because am the one who gave you the wealth” so
when God says you should not forget the poor so you must obey God”

”God
bless you not only for your consumption but to render help to the poor, you
should not forget the poor, we are blessed to bless the poor people”

”
The poor are everywhere, there are people who have wisdom and there are people
who have learnt one thing but they don’t have the financial capacity to help
themselves, it is our right as rich people to help them to ;realize their
dreams”

He
enjoined everyone that God has blessed in one way or the other to try and give
back to the poor.

The
Bishop also said that the church is also planning to train youths.

”By
the grace of God in this June we are going to gather youths and teach
;them ;a trade on how to be self employed so that they can be useful
to the society, there are some businesses you can do with little or no cash we
call it zero entrepreneurship”

”I
want to thank God that those that have been empowered through this church are
now living ;fine, one who we empowered with N2,000 ;has now built a house of her own”

Meanwhile,
;the chairman Sons and Daughters of Grace, Emmanuel Olujimi described the
gesture by the church as a welcome development, saying that they have emulated
Jesus by giving back to the poor

Biblically
it is the priority of the Christians to assist the needy, what we have done is
a way of emulating Jesus , it is not that everybody has but we wish to follow
the ;foot step of Jesus Christ who is our leader.

”Every
individual should look at his or her community and wherever you are, you should
try to wipe away the tears of the needy so you will feel fulfilled that you
have helped somebody in life, they should also stretched out their hands of
giving to the poor not matter how small or big,” he stated.

Jeremiah Tunji
Okunlola, popularly called Baba Ire Owuro, coined from his early morning
prayers on Radio OGBC II 90.5 FM Abeokuta, Ogun State, was recently consecrated
Bishop of The African Church and Director of Mission, and was ; enthroned at The African Church Solution
Camp, Sam Ewang Estate, Abeokuta on the occasion of his ;21st year in service in The African Church.

He was born
in Ife-Odan in Ejigbo Local Council Area of Osun State over 40 years ago, to a
very poor family. The poverty level was such that they ;hardly took three-square meals a day.

He attended
African Church Primary School, Ife-Odan; and Anglican Church Grammar School,
Ife-Odan for primary and secondary education, respectively.

He later ;gained admission into Kwara State College of
Education, Oro, where he ;obtained
National Certificate of Education (NCE). From there, he proceeded to University
of Ado-Ekiti (UNAD) for Bachelor of Education (B Ed).

He ;received God’s calling during his ;NCE programme around 1993. At that time, he ;was the Prayer Secretary for Fellowship of
Christian Students.

His closeness
to God then was deepened to the point of receiving higher calling to the effect
that he would work in his ;father’s
church, which is The African Church where he ;was born, baptised and confirmed .

In an
earlier interview with The Guardian Newspaper, he stated that

“There
were many Pentecostal churches then at Oro and Ilorin that were trying to lure
me to their ministries because they could see some gift in me, even while in
school. But God insisted He wanted to use me in The African Church.

Later in
1997, when God confirmed that I would go to The African Church, I came into the
ministry through The African Church College of Theology. God told me that He
called me as a prophet for the church and I asked Him how that would be
possible.

The
office of the prophet is not recognised, mentioned or known in the church and
God said He would do something.

After my
graduation, I was posted to Gospel African Church, Ejigbo, Osun State on August
27, 1998. I was to resuscitate the church there, as the one established back
then was no more.

And by
God’s grace after seven years, I was transferred to Ebenezer African Church,
Igboole-lgboora in February 2004. The church also had a little challenge, but
by God’s grace, we were able to solve it.

In 2007,
another calling came, that there was need for a Camp Chaplain at The African
Church Solution Camp, Abeokuta and that was how I was posted here on February
1, 2007.

On
getting here, I didn’t meet a single soul. But currently through God’s power,
within 11 years, we have a population of between 3,000 and 5,000 congregations
for a single service.”
