ADC Vice Presidential Candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, Reveals ‘Reason’ For Mother’s Untimely Death

ADC Vice Presidential Candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, Reveals ‘Reason’ For Mother’s Untimely Death

OpenLife News reports that former Minister of Transportation and Vice Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has attributed his mother’s death to the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Amaechi made the allegation during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today aired on Friday.

According to him, his mother was healthy before Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023, but became increasingly difficult to care for as the cost of medicines skyrocketed.“Because policies are killing people. I’ve lost my mother,” Amaechi said.

“You want me to mention my friends who are 90 or 92 years old? Why do you think my mother couldn’t live up to 92? Tinubu was the reason. Before Tinubu, my mother was healthy.”

The former Rivers State governor insisted that the rising cost of drugs under the current administration made it difficult for his family to buy medicines for his mother.

“Before Tinubu, my mother was healthy. Suddenly, by the time President Bola Tinubu came, it was difficult to buy drugs for my mother. I know most of you won’t believe this,” he said.

“But the point I’m making is that there are so many persons whose parents have died who themselves are about to die, because by Tinubu’s removal, the NBS said last quarter, we spent N200 billion importing drugs. Forty per cent of finished goods are imported.”

Amaechi argued that the economic policies of the administration have worsened the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians, with many unable to afford essential medicines.

His comments come amid growing criticism of the Federal Government over the high cost of living, inflation and cost of healthcare following fuel subsidy removal and other reforms.
