<h4>ADC Candidate Laments over electoral process<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a> <&sol;strong>reports that an African Democratic Congress&comma; ADC candidate in the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti State is lamenting&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Among other thing&comma; the candidate&comma; Wole Oluyede&comma; says that for allowing themselves to be financially induced by wealthy politicians on election day&comma; it appears the poor people of Ekiti are not ready for life improvement&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The Australia-based medical doctor has also expressed regret for joining politics&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Ekiti people have chosen the leader they want by collecting money to vote and they should not complain of lacking basic and social amenities in the future&period; The problem Ekiti has now is that the people are poor and that was why they could buy their conscience&period; That was what All Progressives <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;thisdaylive&period;com&sol;">Congress<&sol;a> used in gaining the heart of many people&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;More worrisome is the fact that the people do not want a solution to the problem of poverty&period; That was why even when we came with an agenda to address the poverty confronting them&comma; they still expected us to buy their votes before we could help them&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The winner is not the best&comma; but he is the one the people deserved&comma;” he lamented&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The <strong>ADC<&sol;strong> candidate&comma; who came fourth in the election&comma; said that he deliberately refused to buy votes&comma; adding&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I have lost hope in the entire process in the state&comma; it is a tragedy&period; I didn’t buy votes of Ekiti people deliberately&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I can’t use my hard-earned resources to run around talking to people on why I should be elected and I will still need to buy people&comma; security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission&period; It appears politics here does not mean the best will emerge&comma;” he said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Oluyede said he would not challenge in court the outcome of the election which he said was highly monetised&comma; saying such would amount to time wasting as he alleged that the entire election process including the electoral umpire and security agencies were hijacked by vote-buyers thus making it easy to induce voters without any hindrance&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
