Adamawa Solidarity Thickens For Atiku Ahead Of 2027

OpenLife News reports that Adamawa State solidarity appears to be thickening for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election as former First Lady, Aisha Buhari, who hails from the same state as Atiku, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.

Political analysts say the visit is being seen as part of Adamawa consolidation in favour of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as political alignments intensify ahead of 2027.

Atiku disclosed the meeting in a post on his social media platforms on Wednesday, describing the visit by the widow of former President Muhammadu Buhari as “warm and deeply appreciated.”

Though details of their closed-door discussion were not disclosed, the Adamawa connection between both figures has fueled speculations of a growing home-state backing for Atiku’s 2027 ambition.

“Today, I was delighted to receive former First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Her visit was warm and deeply appreciated,” Atiku said.

The former Vice-President said the encounter reminded him of the enormous responsibility of leadership and the urgent need to prioritize the welfare and dignity of Nigerians.

He used the occasion to lament the worsening economic hardship in the country, citing the skyrocketing cost of food, transportation, education, healthcare and other essentials.

“Nigerians deserve an economy that rewards hard work, restores opportunity and allows every family to live with dignity and hope,” Atiku stated, reaffirming his resolve to ease pressure on households and “Make Nigeria Affordable Again.”

Aisha Buhari was accompanied by one of her daughters and some associates during the visit to Atiku’s Abuja residence.
