Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu on Monday morning slammed Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo over the reported detention of Maria Chike Benjamin.
Uche said she phoned Maria and the reality star denied any wrongdoing.
“Just got off the phone with My sister,” the controversial actor wrote on his Instagram page. “Ghanaians dey lie, is it by force 2 date Presido?”
“She did nothing wrong… observed all necessary protocol so why all this?
“Nigerians treat Ghanaians nice but you guys treat us unfairly. Tell your Presido 2 stop chasing Woman,” he said.
It was reported that the ex-Big Brother Naija season six housemate and real estate broker ran afoul COVID-19 regulations in the West African country, prompting authorities there to arrest and restrict her movement.
The 29-year-old’s movement was being restricted due to her alleged fake COVID-19 test papers.
Her public relations team had tweeted yesterday: “The Ghanaian authority are holding Maria against her will. This is sad. What is this covid extortion? These people are doing fake covid results to keep Nigerians in quarantine and extort them. What is this mess? Kept her in a stinking hostel even when a doctor confirmed she’s Covid negative. Again, what is the essence of the Covid-19 vaccine?”
Maria herself yesterday later warned that if she lost her cool, it won’t be pretty. She said she had been hurt, disappointed and humiliated.
“To say I am disappointed, upset, hurt and humiliated by the system is an understatement. Please don’t make me lose my cool. It won’t be pretty please,” said the ex-Shine Ya Eye housemate.
