He also charged the officers to always take good care of their family, provide a good education and good upbringing to their children, and to always take good care of their wives.

He noted that wives are blessing to them because they take care of the home front while their husbands are away on military duties.

In his remarks, the Commandant congratulated them for a well-deserved promotion, adding that the road ahead is not an easy one.

He therefore challenged them to work harder because the opportunities get narrower for the ranks that lay ahead of them, noting that not everyone they got promoted together with will be promoted subsequently, at the same time.

He stated that this is because the vacancies keep shrinking as they ascend the career ladder.

He urged them to justify their promotion through hard work, loyalty and commitment to the Nigerian Navy and the nation. He further enjoined them to attend courses and as well graduate with flying colours.

In a vote of thanks, Lt SS Aidi on behalf of the decorated officers thanked the Chief of Naval Staff on the confidence reposed on them and also commended the Commandant and Staff of NASPRI for imparting knowledge on them and also promised on behalf of other beneficiaries to live above board while pursuing their career in the service.

Highlights of the event include the decoration, words of advice and photographs.
