Abeokuta South Council Chair, Ayodeji Shomide, in a Christmas Carol sermon, reminded citizens of the need for love as practiced by Jesus Christ
OpenLife Nigeria reports that the transition committee chairman, Abeokuta South local government, Honourable Ayodeji Shomide on Thursday held its Christmas carol service at the local government, Secretariat, Ake, Abeokuta.
At the event, Shomide enjoined Nigerians to show love to the needy, by giving out to them during this period in the society.
He disclosed this on Wednesday at the Christmas Carol service and end of the year thanksgiving of the local government held at the local government secretariat, Abeokuta.
In his sermon titled “The King is Born”, the council chairman said, I would love to take this precious moment to thank our Almighty Father who is in heaven, for enabling us, through His grace, to congregate here today as brethren, to thank our God who is heaven for His love.
“It has been a different year, A year we witnessed the Pandemic Covid-19, End Sars, but God has made it possible for us to see another Christmas.
“On behalf of the transition committee and management of Abeokuta South local government, I highly welcome each one of you as we share the love of God together.
“Christmas period has been a tradition, it is a season of giving, we go an extra mile and share with the needy and unfortunate in the society to show them the love of Jesus Christ.
“On behalf of the staff and the organizers, we are grateful to each and every one of you for coming here today. We know that it is not in vain. God made it possible for us to come here for the Carol service.
“The Lord has been good. Each one of us has been blessed beyond imagination, We shall forever thank our God.
“Let this Christmas period remind us what our God did to us when two thousand years ago, He sent His son Jesus Christ to save humanity where me and you belong.”
