Edo Legacy Foundation, on Wednesday honoured Esan South East Council Chairman
OpenLife Nigeria reports that owing to his commitment to citizens’ welfare and enhanced standard of living in Esan South East Council Area, Edo Legacy Foundation, on Wednesday honoured Honourable Peter Iziogie Aguele, Executive Chairman of the Council, as the man of the year 2020.

According to the statement, the Gold Award of Excellence is an annual event organized by the Edo Legacy Foundation where they bestow on individuals cum personalities who has distinguished themselves in their various endeavors and services to humanity.
The annual event aligns with Abraham Lincoln’s philosophy that “The greatness of anyone is not directly proportional to the number of years he lived but a testament of the lives touched coupled with overall services to humanity.
Presenting the Gold award to Honourable Aguele, the Edo Legacy Foundation through Engineer Pedro Aghahowa, congratulated the recipient for standing shoulder high with absolute sense of patriotism and dignity for what is right in the interest of humanity.
He praised Aguele for his patience and perseverance, a development that makes him a role model of extraordinary resort.
He encouraged him to continue in same spirit.
In his response, Aguele thanked the Almighty God to whom all Glory belongs. He appreciated the Edo Legacy Foundation for the great honour done him as he dedicated the award to the good people of Esan South East local government area for standing by him since his assumption of office as the Executive Chairman of the council in 2020. He promised to remain steadfast and upright towards lifting mankind to the glory of God and benefit to mankind. He called on all Nigerians in general and Edo state in particular irrespective of political affiliations to keep hope alive by supporting the Governor Godwin Noghaghese Obaseki-Deputy Governor Comrade Philip Shaiubu led administration in the determination towards restoring Glory by Making Edo Great Again ( MEGA).
The Council Chairman noted that “Together we will all make our state great as no government can succeed without the support of the people,” promising to do more because he that says thank you is indirectly asking for more.
The event which was conducted in strict compliance with pandemic protocols was a reflection of Chinue Achebe’s literary lines “Each time we gather together at village square during moonlight, it is not actually because of the moon as we all can access moonlight from our individual homes but it is solely a great joy and fulfillment for kingsmen to dwell together in love and unity knowing that united we stand and divided we fall.”
