Afrikicks Cup 2026 Ends In Niamey As AS Kouado 2 Clinch Title
OpenLife News reports that the 2026 Afrikicks Cup ended in style at Ecole Primaire Kouado in Talladjè, Niamey, with AS Kouado 2 emerging champions after a hard-fought 90-minute final against Calico.
The grand finale drew large crowds of football lovers, supporters and residents of the Talladjè community who came out to witness the crowning of the new champions.
AS Kouado 2 completed a memorable campaign with their victory, capping off weeks of competitive matches that showcased young talent from across the community.
Football with a purpose
Speaking after the final, Oumarou Idrissa, President and Founder of Afrikicks, a Los Angeles-based charity organisation, said the tournament is about more than just football.
“Our vision is to see children across Africa have access to potable water, school bags and other essential resources that can improve their lives and support their education,” Idrissa said.
He noted that Afrikicks will continue to use football as a tool to unite communities, nurture young talent, and create opportunities for children and youth.
The organisation also reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its social-impact programmes and reaching more communities across Africa.
