Nigerian Pastor Unveils Matchmaking Platform
OpenLife News reports that Kingsley Okonkwo, lead pastor of David’s Christian Centre, DCC, and popular relationship coach has launched a matchmaking platform for Christian singles seeking marriage.
The cleric unveiled the platform in a series of posts on X, saying the initiative was born out of concerns that relationships in the current generation have become “commercialised.”
“Single men are facing difficulty in finding women. Relationships today are based on financial gain rather than genuine friendship,” Okonkwo said.
Meet “Mentor To Marry”
The platform is called Mentor To Marry. According to the convener, it is a “guided marriage-preparation and matching community for serious Christian singles who desire intentional, Kingdom-minded marriages.”
Okonkwo said the platform is open to men of different statuses who are ready for marriage.
How Much It Costs To Join
Checks show that applicants can choose from three categories on the Mentor To Marry platform:
Regular – N70,000: 8 weeks of mentoring classes + access to browse limited profiles.
Premium – N350,000: All regular benefits + membership in a private group + better offers.
VIP – N700,000: All premium benefits + access to global profiles.
The fees have sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians debating whether charging up to N700,000 for matchmaking aligns with the church’s role in marriage preparation.
Why The Platform?
Okonkwo, who is known for marriage and relationship teachings, said the goal of Mentor To Marry is to help singles move beyond casual dating and focus on purpose-driven, God-centered marriages.
He argued that many young people are struggling to find the right partner because the dating space has been overtaken by money and social media pressure.
Reactions
Since the announcement, reactions have been mixed. While some commended the pastor for creating a structured system to guide singles, others questioned the high fees, especially for the VIP package.
The platform comes at a time when many Nigerian churches and Christian organizations are launching programs to address late marriage, relationship breakdowns, and the search for godly spouses.
