Christian Shield Kicks
OpenLife News reports that Christian Shield, a Christian religion group, has kicked against the recent passage of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Amendment Bill 2026 by the Senate.
Among other things, the Bill seeks to amend Nigeria’s road traffic laws by criminalising preaching in commercial buses.
Christian Shield Group sees the amendment as a targeted attack on the Christian community in Nigeria.
The group maintains that it is an indirect way of trying to silence the voice of the Christians after the failed attempts through Sharia mechanism.
In a statement signed by its Acting Secretary, Apostle Comrade Moses Obayendo, Christian Shield says that “The Bill is a contradiction to the constitution of Nigeria that provided for freedom of worship and freedom of religion as well as freedom of religious expressions.”
Further, Christian Shield queried the rationale behind the Bill, saying that Senate which has not enacted laws to completely wipe out criminal activities in vehicles during long and short travelling periods has time to ban Christian preachings in buses.
“This is unfortunate because these law makers are ignorant of how bad situations and intended criminal actions have been averted through the preachings and prayers of men of God in buses and cars during travel periods.”
Below is the statement in part:
“We are in a country of over 50 percent Christians and you are passing a law that people cannot preach in the bus. The FRSC Bill is unacceptable and we are not going to abide by it.
It is a contradiction to the constitution of Nigeria that provided for freedom of worship and freedom of religion as well as freedom of religious expression.
In this same country, many people are being killed in the name of one religion.
A girl called Deborah Samuel was killed for saying “Thank you Jesus” in the north and her killers have not been brought to book till date.
So, why should somebody pay fine for preaching in the bus? There is freedom of expression in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. So, the government cannot go ahead with the FRSC law.
Most importantly, Jesus Christ, our lord charged us to go everywhere and preach the gospel to every creature.
Everywhere includes the bus and every creature includes those people in the bus. So, you cannot make a law to counter the instructions of Jesus. We will not obey that law. This is one of the effects of the Muslim Muslim ticket.
Anyone in the Senate or Reps or in the Cabinet who is a Christian must stand up and tell those pushing this Bill that they are playing with fire. They should stop it and pull it back as quickly as possible.
Every Friday in this country, Muslim block roads when they are having their prayers and use loud speakers. Does that not constitute traffic problem? Why have the National Assembly and FRSC not look into that?
What road risk does someone preaching in the bus constitute?
If a voice preaching in the bus is seen as constituting hazards, then those blocking roads and using loud speakers also constitute hazards.
In the plane, Captain and Cabin Crew address us. In the air, people have whatever conversation they want to have.
Therefore, this is a further proof of the sinister Islamization agenda being pushed by these people.
And Nigerian politicians who are not Muslim will not stand up against it because of their greed for money and personal enrichment.
But, as Christians, we reject it in its entirety because it is an attack on our faith, it is an attack on the practice of our religion and it is also an attack on Jesus Christ. We will not accept it.
