How My Stepmom Influenced  My Educational Delay  For 18 Years — Charles Inojie Recounts Family Rejection

OpenLife reports that veteran Nollywood actor Charles Inojie has opened up about a painful chapter of his early life, revealing how a family decision pushed him into hardship long before his rise to fame.

Speaking about his upbringing, the comic star recounted the moment his home environment changed dramatically after his stepmother issued an ultimatum to his father. According to him, the demand forced his father into a position where he had to make a life-altering decision.

“My stepmom asked my father to choose between her and me, he chose her.
When i got admission into the university, she told my father I had to wait for her own child to grow up so we could go together, a child I’m 18 years older than.
That was how i ended up in the street and the street is doing me well”.

The revelation paints a picture of a young man whose academic dreams were abruptly stalled. Despite gaining admission into the university, he was reportedly denied the opportunity to proceed, as he was asked to delay his education for nearly two decades to accommodate his step-sibling.

Faced with this reality, Inojie said he had no choice but to leave home, a move that led him to the streets where he began to navigate life on his own terms. While the experience was difficult, it became a defining period that shaped his resilience and determination.

Today, his journey from rejection to recognition stands as a testament to endurance, as he has built a successful career in Nigeria’s film industry against the odds.
