Days After Losing Jamal, Shanko Rasheed’s Wife Accuses Him of Abuse and Neglect
OpenLife reports that Nigerian singer Shanko Rasheed, as his wife has publicly accused him of maltreatment and abandonment.
Just days after the couple suffered the devastating loss of their son, Jamal, Shanko’s wife went viral with a video in which she laid bare a shocking tale of neglect, alleged abuse, and struggle.
She claimed that after an accident on October 11 left her legs injured and jobless, Shanko abandoned her and their three children, leaving her to fend for herself.
She recounted how the singer allegedly forced her to take out a loan to pay rent, only to seize the money and leave her destitute.
“Nigerians help me. I had 3 kids for him. Jamal was our firstborn. I had an accident on October 11 that affected my legs, and this made me jobless.
On Oct 26, he entered the house, and I asked him for money, but he angrily left.
We were given a quit notice by the landlord, and he told me to look for somewhere to live. Later, he told me to get him a loan, which he would use to pay rent, and I did. He collected the money and abandoned me. It was my mum and my son, Jamal, who were taking care of me.
We were eventually chased out of the house, and we had to manage in a church. Jamal was always sad and thinking. Shanko did not pay the school fees, despite my begging.”
She painted a horrifying picture of Jamal’s final days, alleging that Shanko neglected his sick son, refused to pay hospital bills, and even brought violence into the home.
“After Jamal passed away, Shanko started accusing me at the hospital that I killed him. He brought out a g*n and said he would kill me too. It was people around me who helped me to escape. Till now, he didn’t let me see my son.
He brought out a cutlass and said he would cut me into pieces. Nigerians, help me.
Jamal was my best friend… Right now, Shanko has taken away the two remaining children from me. Nigerians, have mercy on me. I have nobody.”
The allegations also claim Shanko was allegedly spending time with another woman while Jamal battled illness, leaving the mother to carry the full weight of caring for their children alone.
The story has ignited widespread outrage online, as many question the singer’s conduct amidst a family tragedy .
