Nollywood fans were thrown into panic after a viral post falsely claimed that legendary actor Pete Edochie had passed away.
The rumor, circulating on X, even alleged that Pete had shared the shocking news himself on Instagram.
But Leo Edochie, one of Pete’s sons, refused to let the lie spread unchecked.
Taking to Instagram, he delivered a powerful message to squash the rumors and remind everyone that his father is very much alive.
“I have been receiving calls, text messages, WhatsApp messages, over some nonsense that people posted, that my father, Pete Edochie, is dead. It’s a lie from the pit of hell. Our father is not just alive but hale and healthy. If you’re wishing someone dead, the person will live very long, or you’ll die before him,” Leo wrote.
His words were firm and unapologetic a clear warning to those who spread falsehoods online.
Pete Edochie continues to enjoy good health, proving once again that rumors of his death were greatly exaggerated.
