Prophet Odumeje Reacts

OpenLife Nigeria reports that popular Nigerian cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, has reacted to Davido’s loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The Nigerian singer lost in the Best African Music Performance category to South African singer Tyla, marking a continued search for his first Grammy award after receiving nominations.

Speaking passionately about the singer’s accomplishments, 43 years old Prophet Odumeje who is the general overseer of The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry and father of 5, reminded Davido that awards are not the ultimate measure of talent or impact.

“What is Grammy? Who knows Grammy? Grammy don’t make us to know you, Davido. We know you as a good singer. That is why we love you, not Grammy,”

Odumeje said, emphasizing that the world already recognizes Davido’s artistry.

He also urged the singer to stay motivated despite the setback, encouraging him to channel his energy into creating more music:

“You don’t allow somebody call to come and begin to use it to quench the fire of your joy. Go out there, get more inspiration to shock the world with another new music.”

Odumeje concluded with a reminder to maintain focus and let nothing distract him from his God-given path:

“When God lifts you up, maintain that place that God keep you. Don’t allow people to carry their wickedness to distract you. You are a very good singer.”

The cleric’s words serve as a reminder that true success lies not in trophies, but in the influence, inspiration, and joy one brings to the world a sentiment that resonates deeply with Davido’s global fanbase.
